After receiving such
overwhelmingly positive reviews about the 2005 VPS Six
from magazines such as Mountain Biking (who named it the
2005 Bike of the Year), Mountain Bike, and nsmb.com,
Norco felt their only option was to make it even better.
Many people felt their only real criticism of the 2005
bike was the weight. So, for 2006 they changed the rear
hub (135x10mm), used a lighter forged BB yoke, lightened
up the main frame and stay tubing, and changed a few
components to reduce the overall weight of the bike.
Please, don’t misunderstand, this bike is still ideal
for anyone who wants to progress their freeriding/descending
skills – but now you’ll get to enjoy the climb a lot
more as well.
