Lighter than ever, the Helix is our lightweight 3-buckle boot that skis like a 4-buckle. It raises the bar for classic ski tours and go-fast ski mountaineers who count grams, yet expect unparalleled control of their new, wider touring skis. The Helix is based on the popular Helium, shaving weight wherever possible without sacrificing function, skiing control, and durability. Its liner, walk mechanism, sole, and buckle catches all contribute to its featherweight status. Like its predecessor, the Helix’s multi-injected Flex Insert is tuned for easy touring and scrambling, while its High Overlap shell and cuff close around the foot and leg securely for ripping the descent. The High Overlap panel provides the forward contact and skiing control of a much bigger 4-buckle model—a huge advantage in such a tourable boot. TECH* or UNI compatible, the Helix is our choice for long tours and more technical terrain that requires scrambling and crampon work.
The Helix is available in two Men’s versions, with the lightweight Pad-Lock Plus or G-Fit Plus Liner. The Women’s Helix has the women’s-specific Pad-Lock Plus W or G-Fit Plus W Liner. Both the Men’s and Women’s Helix Pad-Lock Liner have a new Cordura® outer skin for maximum abrasion resistance, and a cropped pile lining that has a softer, warmer feel.
The Helix fit has been significantly improved with a roomier toe, wider forefoot, and narrower heel. We also added a rubber dam under the overlap for a better seal against snow entry. |
